Sandy Bowser

Sandy is a native Washingtonian and grew up in Maryland. She has lived in Columbia since 1985 but along the way she has also lived in Western Pennsylvania and even St. Thomas U.S. Virgin Islands. When Sandy, husband Bruce and children David, Brad, and Rebekah moved back to MD in 1985 she had to quickly get herself acclimated to the new area. When she would set out to go somewhere Sandy would tell her children they were going on a “stateside experience,” even if they got lost they would eventually find their destination!

In 1986 Sandy became a licensed Realtor and by 1990 she had completed her GRI (Graduate of Realtors Institute) designation. She then obtained her Associate Brokers License and enjoyed teaching both pre-licensing and post-licensing classes. With her vast amount of knowledge she became a branch manager for seven years and has mentored numerous agents. Sandy is a natural at Real Estate, taking after her mother who has been in the business for over 40 years.

Sandy was a Director on the Board of Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors in 2005-2006 and has been on the Maryland Association of Realtors Housing Affordability Committee since 2008. She is also on the Board of Directors of Congregations Concerned for the Homeless, a Howard County non-profit agency. Sandy is a member of Mt Zion United Methodist Church in Highland. She still currently lives in Columbia and in her rare but spare time she loves being with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Rebekah Hoffman

Rebekah was born in Baltimore Maryland but one week later she moved to St Thomas in the US Virgin Islands. When she was 7 she moved back to Maryland along with her family and lived in Columbia until her she was 16. In high school she decided to participate in an exchange program and she spent her 11th grade year in Italy. Rebekah attended Florida State University where she received a BA in Italian and International Affairs. Upon graduating, Rebekah moved back to Maryland and began working for a Non-Profit that helped the Homeless and families in need in the DC area. After just 2 short years in that field Rebekah turned her attention to retail management where she worked as Manager for Starbucks Coffee Company. While working for Starbucks, Rebekah managed a couple of stores in The New York City Metro Area including Rockefeller Center. In 2004 she moved back to Maryland and thus began her career in Real Estate! You could say that since her Grandmother, Grandfather and Mother were all in the business; Rebekah was destined to continue the family legacy and join their ranks as a Real Estate Professional. Recently Rebekah went from being a Bowser to a Hoffman when she married Erica’s brother, Ben.  In her free time she loves spending time with Ben and his children, Matthew and Ashleigh. In early December 2008 the Hoffman family welcomed, Cadence Mae! Cadence has become such a joy in all their lives. Rebekah loves to take long walks with Cadence and travel when she gets the chance to!

Kathy Buckus

Kathy worked for a real estate attorney in Montgomery County in the 70's which was the start of her career in this field. Later, after raising her children, she obtained her license and assisted several agents in their businesses before launching out on her own.

Kathy genuinely enjoys getting to know people and helping them discover the features they'd most want in their next home, and then finding just the right fit. For first time homebuyers, she finds it very heartwarming to experience with them the discovery and acquistion of a place that they can call their own. Likewise, when a family is selling, the task of moving or relocating can be seen as an adventure to embrace while they relish the pleasure of seeing new and exciting places. Kathy is truly commited to helping her clients in every aspect of their transaction.

Kathy served as Chair for the Howard County Association of Realtors Education Committee (2004-2007) where she helped to foster growth in herself and others in the real estate profession. She also served on the Maryland Association of Realtors Annual Conference Committee and was selected to attend the MAR Leadership Academy.
For four years (2004 - 2007), Kathy served on the committee to raise funds for Habitat for Humanity & the American Heart Association through a fun filled Art Auction.
Kathy was the catalyst in starting a Canasta group and so enjoys playing this card game with several friends. She also enjoys leisurely bicycle rides along the C&O Canal when weather and time permits. She's active in her local parish, having served as Eucharistic Minister and on the Parish Council.

Please look for Kathy on the Hoffman Terry Group and in the nationally recognized company of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage.
